Week 16 - Day 5

*Did you know that:

  • Eight strawberries will provide 140% of the recommended daily intake of Vitamin C for kids.
Today's salad is delicious and fun to make.  And since 53% of seven to nine year olds picked strawberries as their favorite fruit, even younger siblings in the home will enjoy this recipe.  
I think that you will as well.



I started today with making the dressing.  Follow the measurements in the Healthy Home Ec book.








 



Lightly toast the pecans.




Tear the organic spinach into bite-sized pieces.


Peel and core the apple.








Combine the ingredients.


























Toss together gently.




Add the homemade dressing, then gently toss again.


Serve.  This salad goes great with whole grain bread or crackers, or homemade soup.




Have a blessed evening.






This salad would also be great with fresh raspberries if they are in season.
